This handcrafted piece consists of two layers of 4 mm plywood. The top layer is precision laser-cut to perfectly fit the badge, which is mounted on the bottom layer. The surface is sealed with epoxy resin, making it smooth and water-resistant, and highlighting the badge's details. The sides and bottom are finished with hard wax oil to protect the wood and preserve its natural texture.

Care instructions

  • Wipe with soft damp cloth only – do not soak or scrub
  • Keep out of direct sunlight to preserve gloss
  • After heavy use, polish gently to restore shine

About Fasnacht

Basler Fasnacht is the world’s largest Protestant carnival and a central tradition of Basel. Held every year between February and March, it transforms the city for three days with illuminated lanterns, masked cliques, and the unmistakable sound of piccolos and drums. A key symbol of the celebration is the Blaggedde—the annual badge supporting the event. Since 2017, Basler Fasnacht has been part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage, reflecting its cultural and historical importance.
